The cottage is situated just below the Beacons Way, a renowned footpath stretching deep into the national park.
There are walks from the door step to Tretower, Bwlch, Cwmdu and Crickhowell.
This traditional property has many wonderful features!
Rental is based on a 2-night minimum from £150 per night. The cottage has WIFI and a smart TV with Netflix. There is also a smaller cottage next door (Efail Bach – “Little Smithy”) which sleeps up to 3 people, so is ideal if perhaps there are friends, or grandparents, who want to come on holiday but like to be a little separate.
Downstairs
Kitchen
Guests will find a newly fitted, very well equipped open plan kitchen. This comprises all the usual modern facilities including an electric Range Master cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washing machine. Lovely fitted units with ample storage space.
Dining Area
There is a dining area/family room through an archway off the kitchen with a feature fireplace and a very efficient wood burning stove, dining table, 6 chairs and fabulous views out across the valley to the hills beyond.
Sitting Room
The downstairs sitting room has a feature fireplace fitted with a coal-effect electric fire, smart TV with Freeview and Netflix. WiFi available. A brand new sofabed was added to this room in 2023.
WC
There is also a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and hand wash basin.
Upstairs
Reached by a traditional fairly steep and carpeted stone staircase to three bedrooms.
Master Bedroom 1:
A very spacious bedroom with a king-sized bed with an en-suite shower-room and toilet and small hand basin. Beautiful views over the countryside to the south and west.
Bedroom 2:
Bedroom with a double bed with ample storage space for clothes
Bedroom 3:
Twin bedded room next to the family bathroom.
Bathroom
The family bathroom comprises a bath with a separate shower unit, heated towel rail, toilet and wash basin with shaver point.
Garden
A pretty garden fronts the cottage with a garden bench – a perfect place to sit on a sunny evening. There is also a small elevated garden to the rear with a patio, garden furniture and a BBQ (see gallery).
Dogs
Up to 3 well behaved dogs.
